McKenzie Method
"Also known as Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy, the McKenzie Method is a philosophy of active patient involvement and education for back, neck and extremity problems. The key distinction is its initial assessment component a safe and reliable means to accurately reach a diagnosis and only then make the appropriate treatment plan. Rarely are expensive tests required, Certified MDT clinicians have a valid indicator to know right away whether and how the method will work for each patient."
Traction
Traction can be done mechanically or manually. It can increase the space around an irritated nerve or to stretch an irritated spine segment. This will result in decreased pain and increased motion in the spine.
Manual Therapy
Manual Therapy is a clinical approach utilizing skilled, hands-on techniques including, but not limited to: manipulation/mobilization, manual traction, and stretching. These techniques are used by the physical therapist to diagnose and treat soft tissues and joint structures for the purpose of reducing pain, increasing range of motion (ROM), reducing or eliminating soft tissue and joint inflammation, improving function, and more.
Exercise
Therapeutic Exercise is the use of specific exercises that the therapist prescribes to improve flexibility and range of motion and to increase strength of muscles, tendons, and joints. Advice may also be given on which exercises to use to improve cardiovascular and muscular endurance. The patients specific medical condition and circumstances are taken into account when making these recommendations.
Repex Table
The Repex Table is equipped with a hand-held digital control panel which allows the therapist to enter the exact angle of repetitive motion and the desired number of treatment cycles. Once programmed, the table automatically and passively exercises the patients lower back to its full available end range.
